Its historic Main Street is full of shops, spas, the Strand Theatre, nearly 20 art galleries and over 25 eating establishments. It is home to the renowned Farnsworth Art Museum and the Maine Lighthouse Museum.  Rockland has been named “One of the Top Ten Coolest Small Towns in the US” by Budget Travel in 2009, the “Top 100 Best Adventure Towns in US for 2007 and 2010” by National Geographic for its great outdoor escapes.  In 2010, Rockland was selected by the National Trust for Historic Preservation as a “Distinctive Destination” for its “rich cultural and recreational experiences that are different from those found at a typical vacation destination” – Rockland is the Real Maine.

 No Fueling Package

"No Fueling" Package

(April 1 through September)

As gas prices rise, memories of $5 per gallon gas in 2008 gets us thinking about easing pain at the pumps for their guests. From April 1 through September, we will team up with Eastern Tire & Auto Service, Inc., a family owned and operated business, providing tires and service since 1946 to offer their signature “No Fueling” tune up for cars.  This creative package not only offers an R&R tune up for our guests, but their cars will be treated to a special tune-up to help improve fuel efficiency when guests stay for three midweek nights. Taking it one step further, Eastern Tire & Auto Service, Inc. will donate five dollars from every package to the Area Interfaith Outreach Center ’s Fuel for Family assistance program.

Here’s how it works: Book a three night stay Sunday through Thursday from April 1 – September 30, 2011 and you will drive home “mean and green" with a complimentary signature "No Fueling”  tune up to improve efficiency of the car. This tune up normally retails for $55 and includes a new air filter (offering up to 15% increased fuel efficiency), check and regulation of tire pressure (for up to 7% increase fuel efficiency), your own tire pressure gauge to check your tire pressure monthly to maintain efficiency, driving tips to maximize fuel efficiency and a reusable shopping bag to lighten the load!  Once in Rockland , park the car at Eastern & Auto Service, Inc. and stroll Rockland ’s downtown streets, museums and boutique shops.  There’s plenty of time for you to tune up their own energy reserves while relaxing at our inn while the car gets its own tune up.

Best of all, this signature tune up will help to save at least 20 pounds of carbon dioxide from being created with each gallon of gasoline not burned – no fueling!  Both Eastern Tire & Auto Service, Inc. and LimeRock Inn are dedicated to fighting global warming and helping consumers save, one driver at a time.  Through Eastern Tire & Auto Service’s  $5 per service donation, those taking advantage of this offer will not only help their own car drive more efficiently, but will also assist needy Midcoast families to stay warm next winter.

This package is offered in conjunction with and part of the national “B&Bs Kick Gas!” program sponsored by the Better Way To Stay campaign, a grassroots effort of  the Professional Association of Innkeepers International. *
