The trio features two French acoustic Gypsy jazz guitars and upright bass, and is a two-time winner of Best of New Hampshire awards as well as being veterans of the famed Newport Jazz Festival. The group tours nationally, year-round and has released two albums, largely of original music inspired by legendary Gypsy guitarist, Django Reinhardt.

Anyway, the Tandem Tasters are part of the International Food, Wine and Travel Writers Association.  Maralyn and Brenda stopped by one afternoon to watch me make Key LimeRock Pie.  We had a lot of fun, and they seemed to enjoy the tasting part too.

Historic Inns of Rockland are hosting the 6th annual Pies on Parade in January 2010.  If it sounds yummy to you too, think about coming to Rockland next January for a taste.

This morning we had one of the most bizarre and amazing coincidences of peoples paths crossing. There is an Aunt and neice visiting from the UK, one lives in England and the other Scotland. We also had a newlywed couple from NYC. After breakfast, the neice approached me to ask if the NYC couple, whom she’d not met, had just gotten married in Central Park. You see, prior to arriving at the inn, the aunt and neice had spent some time in New York City and toured Central Park. While there, a wedding was taking place in the Shakespeare Garden and they decided to stay around a bit to watch the bride and groom have their photos taken. Well, when this young couple walked into the dining room this morning, the neices jaw nearly fell to the ground as she thought this was the couple that she witnessed getting married in Central Park. A short while later, the couple confirmed that they indeed did get married and it was the same ceremony viewed by the aunt and neice.

Now I ask you, what are the coincidences that both sets of people would end up here are the LimeRock Inn in Rockland on the same date? It is just amazing and is one of the many reasons we love what we do!!!

Frank & PJ's Abode by Karin Grouf

From time to time, we have guests that are in the area to take painting workshops with local artists.  For the past three years we’ve had a wonderful guest from NY named Karin Grouf who has stayed with us while taking classes with David Dewey’s Maine Masterclass.  This morning, I found Karin in our backyward gazebo painting our cottage.  I asked if I could photograph her work to share with you all and she graciously agreed.  In the near future, original works of Karin’s will be available for purchase here at LimeRock Inn.
